Favorite Neutral Eye Shadow Palettes

Hello Gorgeous!

Today I wanted to tell you guys about some of my favorite neutral eye shadow palettes that are out there.  I know there are tons of palettes on the market that fit the neutral description, and with so many of them being similar, often times it is hard to decide on which one will work best for you.  Though to the eye, many of these may look similar, each one provides a different overall look.  If you are just starting to get into makeup, and are looking to build your collection, having one of these palettes could be the right thing for you.

The first palette I want to talk to you about is the original Urban Decay Naked Palette.  This palette is a great palette to have if you are a beginner in the makeup game.  This palette features TWELVE gorgeous neutrals that vary in textures from glitter, shimmer, and matte.  The palette also includes a dual ended brush, which helps to create a full eye look.  The shadows are warm toned neutrals that work well with all skin types.  This is my most used eye shadow palette by far due to the many types of shadows it provides.  With the Naked Palette, it is easy to make an everyday eye shadow look, as well as an evening look.  The shadows in this palette are velvety smooth, provide great color payoff, and blend together seamlessly.  I would recommend this palette to any and everyone.  You can find this palette at Ulta Beauty for $54. Though this seems pricey, but for TWELVE eye shadows, I think it is well worth the money. Naked Palette (Ulta.com)

The next palette I want to tell you about is the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette.  This is a sequel palette to the original Naked Palette, and I have to say, it is just as good.  This palette also features TWELVE eye shadows, however the shadows inside are completely different with the exception on one shadow called, "half baked" which is a beautiful gold that truly helps to complete both palettes.  The colors in this palette are more taupe neutrals, with cooler tones.  This palette is my second favorite of all the palettes I own.  I find it to be quite different from the original Naked Palette, so to me, it is worth having in my makeup drawer.  Like the original, the shadows in this palette provide excellent color payoff and are super blendable.  I also love that this palette comes with a dual ended brush.  The Naked 2 Palette can also be found at Ulta Beauty for $54.

The third palette I am currently obsessed with is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette.  This is a great warm neutral palette that features SIXTEEN cocoa infused eye shadows.  The Chocolate bar has both matte and shimmer shades that help to provide a complete eye look.  The packaging of this palette is nice and sleek, and is great for traveling.  The eye shadows are so smooth, and blend together amazingly.  Because the shadows are infused with cocoa powder, when you open the palette, it literally smells like chocolate!  Who wouldn't want that?! These shadows are long lasting, and totally worth the hype.  You can also find this palette at Ulta Beauty for $49.  I know $49 can seem like a lot, but you are getting SIXTEEN amazing eye shadows, literally working out to around $3 per shadow.  I love this palette, as it helps to create amazing neutral eye looks.

Another Too Faced favorite is the Natural Eyes Palette.  Personally, I feel this is a great option for someone who is new to makeup.  It provides NINE color rich shadows, all with amazing color payoff.  This palette provides a nice balance between matte shadows as well as shimmer shadows.  This palette is another one that is perfect for travel due to its size, and the protective packaging.  I enjoy using this palette for both day and night time looks, as the colors are buildable.  I feel that this palette is great for all skin tones, and complements all eye colors.  I am very happy with my purchase, as I use this palette frequently.  You can also find this palette at Ulta Beauty for $36.  This is just another palette that is well worth the price tag, in my opinion.

I am going to lump these next two palettes together as they are quite similar, and the choice of which to buy solely depends on your preference of warm or cool toned eye shadows.  Urban Decay's Naked Basics, and Naked 2 Basics palettes are two of my all time favorites.  I love these palettes because they both provide SIX eye shadows, five of which are matte.  Matte eye shadows can be slightly scary to some, but I happen to love them.  These palettes help me to create an easy, and clean look, without being over the top.  I can see myself using these on a daily basis when I finish college and start my career.  The original Naked Basics Palette has warmer browns, while the Naked 2 Basics provides cooler ones.  I love them both, but one of them would do in any makeup collection.  My favorite thing about these matte shadows is that their color payoff is truly amazing.  These colors are not chalky, or muddy like other matte shadows.  They are rich and ultra blendable.  Both of these palettes can be found at Ulta Beauty for $29 a piece. Naked Basics (Ulta.com)

Finally, I want to talk about an affordable drugstore option that any and everyone can add to their makeup collection.  This product is the Maybelline The Nudes Palette.  I just recently purchased this palette because I have heard amazing things about it, and I wanted to try it for myself (not that I needed any more eye shadow in my life).  This palette is seriously amazing, and worth every penny.  For those of you not looking to spend $35+ on eye shadow (which is totally understandable), this is the palette for you.  This palette provides TWELVE full sized eye shadows that are extremely pigmented.  I have been using it for a few weeks now, and for a drugstore product, I am so impressed with the quality.  I absolutely love it, and what I love most is the price.  The Nudes Palette can also be found at Ulta Beauty (or any drugstore- Target, Walgreens, CVS, etc.) for right around $9.99.  Thats around 80cents per eye shadow... DEAL!  Not only are these shadows cheap, but they are long lasting and worth purchasing.

Welcome to Beauty by Jeana!

Hello Gorgeous, and welcome to my beauty blog!

Have you ever needed help achieving the perfect curls, the most defined eyebrows, or the perfect smokey eye?  I know I have!

My name is Jeana, I am a 22 year old college student, and I love all things beauty.  About two years ago, I became more interested in buying more high end beauty products in hopes of achieving better results than what drugstore products were giving me.  In some cases, the high end products were successful, and in some cases they were no better than the cheaper drugstore alternative.  The more I explored products, the more I learned about perfecting my hair and makeup skills, and I am still learning more everyday!

Each post on my blog will focus on hair and makeup.  I will give my opinions on products, provide product suggestions, and give detailed hair and makeup tutorials.  Throughout my blog posts, I will consult with others on these topics to provide more through feedback on tools and products for achieving beauty goals!

Blogs will be posted 3 times a week!

Have a great day, and I will talk to you very soon!
